also for anyone who was wonder (aka no one) i use Photoshop CS5 (or CS3 god i don't know i always forget) with a custom brush which is a mixture of a pre-set watercolor brush and a crayon preset tip

the amount of layers i use are about 1-3 all my colors are usually on 1 layer (unless i want a seperate for hair) and other layers are used for effect and background
